The greatest fashion event of the year, the evening known as the Oscars, is just another opportunity for starts to present their most glamorous outfits. Three color trends could be noticed at the 84th edition of the Academy Awards. One of them is the bridal white which featured some of the best looking outfits.
If in 2011, Gwyneth Paltrow got numerous votes when she walked down the Red Carpet in a stunning gold Calvin Klein sheath dress, she did not let her fans down this year either. Beautiful and rebellious, Gwyneth proved that she perfectly masters the codes of 2012 fashion trends when she appeared in an equally beautiful snow-white Tom Ford dress. The American designer’s collection did not appear on the British catwalks at London Fashion Week. It was secretly displayed to the a few editors accompanied by a breakfast buffet and no photos were allowed. This increased the sensational element within Gwynnie’s appearance. The simplicity of the strapless one shoulder dress was emphasized by the lack of necklace as well as by the natural make-up and by the sleek hair style. The only bold elements were the cape she dared to wear, the cuff stoned bracelet and matching ring.
Although she definetely had the best looking outfit of the evening, Gwyneth Paltrow had a lot of competition. Milla Jovovich looked absolutely fabulous in her Elie Saab silvery white dress. Her asymmetrical dress embroidered with sequins highlights the former model’s highly sensual body. As far as accessories are concerned, Mila Jovovich put on jewelry signed by Jacob and Company. Discrete, but very glamorous, the star’s earrings add value to her outfit and to her dressed to the nines haircut.
Jennifer Lopez and Rooney Mara certainly made a splash on the Red Carpet with their glamorous outfits. The 42 year old star of Latin origin accompanied her very shiny low-cut Zuhair Murad dress solely by a pair of earrings. The total lack of accessories can be noticed with Rooney Mara. The disturbingly beautiful actress wore a white Givenchy dress, highlighting her black ebony hair, her white skin, blue eyes and red lips. However, the bridal inncent touch of white does not seem to ensure success for everyone. Some outfits such as those wore by Penelope Ann Miller, Shailene Woodley and Kelly Ripa were unconvincing and controversial.
